NEW HAMPSHIRE - Filling in this week for a still-moving Toby Ball, the Crime Writers On tapped long-time friend of the show, "The J.V. Club's" Janet Varney, to deliver her thumb-based reviews on this week's shows. Ms Varney is an Emmy-nominated actress, comedian, writer, and producer best known for voicing Korra in Nickelodeon's critically acclaimed animated series "The Legend of Korra" and for co-starring as Sheriff Evie Barret in IFC's "Stan Against Evil" and as Becca in FX's "You're the Worst." She is also the co-founder, creative director, and producer of SF Sketchfest (one of North America's most prominent comedy festivals, now in its 22nd year), hosts multiple podcasts including "The JV Club" since 2012 and Nickelodeon's "Avatar: Braving the Elements" with Dante Basco, and previously hosted TBS's "Dinner and a Movie" for seven years. She is a long-time fan and supporter of Crime Writers On, and has appeared as a guest and guest host on episodes of both CWO and These Are Their Stories.
